One evening, I was sitting on my couch, feeling grateful to God for bestowing a fortunate life to have the things that most people can’t afford.
- Like everyone, it has happened to me that I’m unable to control the situations around me but not many times in my life I’ve seen nightmares. And I’m thankful for it.
I thought about my parents, friends and the long good years spent in an affluent college. Everything happened in the past was beautiful and cherishing.
But all of a sudden, I was faced with a question, “How my life would be without money? What do I still have that I feel grateful for? What are the things that money can’t buy?”
I picked up my diary and began writing down the things that money can’t buy for me and probably to you as well.
Below are the points that everyone should count on to for what money can’t buy.
1. Money can’t buy talent
Of course, you can spend your money in attending seminars and courses. However, you’ve to sit and practice every day to harness your talents. Money can’t buy that willpower, dedication and the mindset to be consistent.
Money can’t make you skillful. However, the opposite is not true. Once you become the master of your talent, it will bring riches to you.
2. Money can’t buy long-term happiness
I recently bought a new mobile phone. I was so happy that I was stuck with it for whole two days.
But after that, my enthusiasm fell down. I didn’t find the same pleasure I found it on the day when I bought it. I became careless about the phone. I hid it in my cupboard to forbid myself from using it. I never felt happy again on looking at my new phone.
Shopping new products and gadgets or squandering in big restaurants every day only brings short-term happiness in your life. As the days passed by, you’ll lose its luster.
Long-term happiness is a state of mind. If your mind is wandering and unhealthy, you can never settle down, no matter what you buy or what country or city you move to in search of a peaceful life.
3. Money can’t buy extra time
Everyone on this planet shares the same amount of time as you do. No billionaire can buy 25 hours a day. However, you can save your time by spending money on productive tools or hiring people for your business or job.
4. Money can’t buy peace at home
More than money, the family members need understanding and support. If there is a lack of mutual sympathy among relations, no money can buy peace at home. Even when a member of the family is going through a crisis, backing him up can encourage him to fight.
On the other hand, not to mention, you might have seen rich family ending up terribly due to lack of understanding.
You can always build relationships and help people because money can buy a house but it can’t buy home.
5. Money can’t buy the broken trust
Once the trust is broken, it can’t be bought again.
6. Money can’t buy a lifelong friendship
Money can help you win the friendship in the beginning, but in the long run, you’ll find some of the habits of your friend difficult to tolerate. However, once you accept his limitations and show respect towards his autonomy, you’ll have a lifelong friend.
7. Money may not improve the friendship between two
Helping a friend by lending him money may risk your friendship. As an equally apt idiom goes, “You should not lend money to your friends; if you do, either you’ll have to bother your friend to repay the loan, which will make your friend resent you, or your friend will not repay the loan, which will make you resent your friend.”
Again, it’s about the conscience of an individual. If both the friends have clear conscience, the friendship will remain forever.
8. Money can’t buy the true love
Love is independent of all desires. If you fail in life and lose all your money, true love will always be there. A good example is your own family.
Look at the relationship between you and your parents. No matter how miserable conditions you are going through, they will be standing beside you. They may quarrel with you in those days, but never let you alone.
9. Money can’t buy the courage
The courageous thing that I did for myself in the past is to take the loan and publish the book “Superhuman In You”. This one step made me an author and encouraged me to start this website.
Somehow, I paid the money I lent and continued my passion for writing. If I had not published the book, I would not have understood the value of courage.
Those days I did a lot of reading and meanwhile, I remember reading somewhere, ‘In life, it is not the intelligent or rich win, but a bold one.’
Taking a balanced risk or showing courage in the odd situation can change your world in a whole new way. You’ve to believe in your gut feeling and no money can buy the things you believe in.
10. Money can’t make the dead alive
Often most, we realize the value of people in our life after they pass away. Whole through our age, we live our life in regrets. We curse ourselves for not spending enough time with the one who was dear to our heart. Unfortunately, no money can bring back the people who left us.
As I always say, money does not bring happiness and nor does the poverty, soon I’m going to write about what money can buy you. If you love reading the post subscribe to this website so that you don’t miss any article or update.
